Google Places. Every venue is verified as operating, rated 4.0 or above with at least 30 reviews, then re-verified monthly. Closed venues are removed automatically.
Q3How are venues selected?
By review count and rating within each district and category, filtered by fixed adjudication rules. Listing is informational — venues don't pay to appear, and ranking is not endorsement.
Q4Which district should I start with?
Xitun (Qiqi bar belt plus Fengjia) for the strongest firepower; West District's Greenway for slow bistro nights; Yizhong in North District for the student vibe. Each district page lays out the route.
Q5Is Taichung nightlife reachable without a car?
Partially. The MRT green line covers the Qiqi and Wenxin corridors, buses run on Taiwan Boulevard, but late-night moves usually mean ride-hailing. Never drive after drinking.
